That is all well and good. You are definitely right about her mental problems. But I think the root is the problem is more societal than that. She makes her income by having men watch her eat. She spends almost as much in food than most people MAKE in a year. Also, people buy her food so that they can watch her eat it. They don’t look like they are hurting for cash.

The problem is that she is rewarded by society more for doing damage (eating herself to death) than by trying to better herself, which she has probably tried and been ridiculed for.

Just like in many cases in our society, the wrong behavior is being reinforced. Brad, understanding this, HER FAMILY’S INCOME IS DERIVED FROM THIS DYSFUNCTIONAL BEHAVIOR.

Also, if the government has to step into pay for her health care, that is nothing new and it is a drop in the bucket. Do health assessments at a box gym, you will see that the average senior citizen has two doctors appoints and 3-5 prescriptions per week. How much of that comes from our taxes? It is a lot, the average Medicare Recipient costs about $24000/year to support in the system — many of those are going to be on there for 30 years+, and we will spend more to keep them alive than they have made in our entire life. If you wonder why our country is going bankrupt, that is why. 16% of our GDP is on health care. This woman is just a manifestation of a much deeper problem.
